Lucy is a single woman. She is new in San Jose, California. She has a good job as a loan officer at a bank. Lucy works very hard, and she is an attractive young woman, but she doesn't have time for a social life. She is starting to think about marriage, but she doesn't know many single men. Her coworker and friend, Anna Tanaka, gave Lucy's phone number to a friend. She wants Lucy to go on a blind date. Lucy's friend, Anna, gave Lucy's phone number to a male friend. His name is Michael Benson. Anna thinks that Lucy needs to go out more. She works too hard, and she doesn't know any nice single men. Lucy asked Anna many questions about Michael's personality, interests, height and weight, and then she agreed to go out with him. Michael called her at work, and they're going to meet at eight o'clock at Café California, a piano bar. Lucy is at Café California. She arrived at eight o'clock to meet her blind date, Michael Benson. It's now nine o'clock, and the club is crowded, but Michael isn't there. Lucy is getting angry and wants to go home. She is getting her coat when a waiter begins calling her name. Lucy went to Café California for her blind date. She was nervous and excited. Anna helped Lucy choose an outfit to wear, so Lucy looked very beautiful. One problem: Lucy waited for an hour, but Michael Benson didn't show up! Then Lucy started talking to the piano player, and he invited her to have dinner with him.
