Canada is a constitutional monarchy. Four provinces joined together and became Canada in 1867. Thousands of years ago, people came across the Bering Strait from Asia. Aboriginal means "first people." First Nations peoples spoke many different languages. The Inuit are the people who live in the Arctic. Inuktituk is the only language of the Inuit. Metis languages are English, French, and Michif. The constitution is about making laws. Aboriginal people lived here for thousands of years before Europeans came.
