Match up the Social Studies terms in Set A with the correct definition and meanings in Set B.

Target Language or Knowledge:

Culture The ideas, customs, attitudes and behaviour of a group of people or a society. Society The total of all organized communities with shared laws, traditions, and values.living in particular time and place. Social Change Any significant alteration in society over time in behavior patterns and cultural values and norms. Social Process Forms of social interaction that occur between people that influence relationships. Human Rights The rights that all human beings have by virtue of their humanity. Social Justice Justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities and privilegesin society. Social Action Taking steps to change the things that are wrong in our society and introducing new ideas and processes for doing things better in the future. Point of View A particular viewpoint or attitude on an issue. Values Principles or standards of behaviour; one's judgement of what is important in life. Virtues Behaviour that reflects moral standards and values that are consistently practiced. Beliefs An acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof. Perspectives An underlying set of beliefs and ideologies about the world. EG Feminist perspective Conflict A serious and protracted disagreement between two or more parties that can lead to violence and war. Government The recognized authority in society that governs it; executive, judicial and legislative. Globalization The process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale. Climate Change A a change in global or regional climate patterns, in particular a change apparent from the mid to late 20th century. Migration The movement of people from one place to another. Racism The belief in the superiority and or inferiority of human beings based on skin color and other physical attributes. Leisure The time when one is not working or occupied; free time to what one wants. Cyberbullying The use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.
