Aunt Sally

Last Saturday Aunt Sally visited Adelaide. She loves shopping so I took her on a big day out. We started early in the morning. First we went to the IKEA restaurant so we could have breakfast. We both had tasty sausages, eggs and tomatoes. After breakfast we walked around the shop but we didn't buy anything. Next we went to Harbour Town where there were a lot of cheap clothes and shoe shops. I tried on about six pairs of shoes and a dozen dresses. One was quite nice so I bought it. Aunt Sally tried on more clothes than I did, but she didn't buy anything. After a while we were hungry and thirsty so we went to the food court and bought our lunch. While we were eating lunch, we watched the planes take off from the airport. After lunch, we drove to Glenelg which is a popular beach and shopping area in Adelaide. We walked up one side of Jetty Road and down the other side looking at the shops. When we reached the beach, we walked along the jetty and watched people swimming. Then we went into the old town hall and looked around the museum. We learned a lot about the first British migrants who came to Adelaide, and the old jetty that was destroyed by a large storm. Then we went to the supermarket and chose some fish to take home for dinner. I also bought some green vegetables to cook and some fresh fruit to eat after dinner. Finally we drove home and cooked a lovely meal with the fish and vegetables. We didn't spend very much money, but we had a wonderful day out looking around the shops.
