Pippi Longstocking Chapter 1

Pippi is nine years old. She lived in Villa Villekulla with no mother or father to tell her what to do. Pippi's father was a sea captain that sailed on the great ocean. He had bought the old house in the garden many years ago. One thing Pippi took from the ship was a little monkey named Mr. Nilsson. The other thing she took was a suitcase full of gold pieces. One of the sailors described Pippi as remarkable. Her strength was the most remarkable thing about her. One thing she purchased with her gold was a horse that lived on the front porch. Tommy and Annika were the two charming children that lived next door. They were good and obedient children. Pippi had hair the color of a carrot. She tells herself when it's time to go to bed. Tommy and Annika ate pancakes with Pippi. Pippi gave her new friends presents before they went home.
