The Gnaoua World Music Festival is a festival for mainly Gnawa music artists, held every year in Essaouira, Morocco. It was founded in 1998 by Neila Tazi and her group. The festival provides a platform for concerts and exchange between the Gnawa musicians of Morocco and artists from other countries. In this musical festival, the Gnawa invite musicians of jazz, pop and rock to perform together. The festival attracts thousands of people every year, because many performances are free.
