They are decomposed by the action of microorganisms and these are recycled through a geo chemical cycle and biodegradable substances as tree leaves, plant parts can be used as humus after composting. they will increase fertility of soil.

The accumulation of chemical substances and transfer of the same from lower trophic levels to higher trophic levels.

it is getting depleted due to various activities as excessive use of CFC's , deforestation, excessive use of automobiles.
