Worksheet Instructions:

BE CAREFUL! uncountable nouns (tea, coffee, air, rubbish) use MUCH countable nouns (cups, people, cars, apples) use MANY - If we want to say that something is two times bigger/longer/larger in quantity etc, we use "TWICE AS + MUCH/MANY": I drank twice as much tea. I drank twice as many cups of tea. - If we can compare something with something else, we use "TWICE AS MUCH/MANY ... AS": There are twice as many cars in London as there are in Berlin. London produces twice as much air pollution as Berlin. - The opposite of "TWICE AS + MUCH/MANY" is "HALF AS + MUCH/MANY": There are half as many patients as there were a year ago. My salary is half as much again as his. - MUCH/MANY can be replaced with adjectives like long, big, short, wide, beautiful, crowded, etc. London is twice as crowded as Berlin.
