An ecosystem is where living things & non-living things work together. A biome is a large area where there is one type of ecosystem that is the main one. Latitude is a part of the process that controls the distribution of biomes. The angle of the Sun’s rays on the surface of the Earth changes depending on the latitude. Many places in the world are experiencing the impacts of changes in climate. Climate change affects the global food supply and causes natural disasters. Food production on land and on sea had already been hit by drought, flooding and changing rainfall patterns, and would be further threatened as the world continues to warm. Climate change can also affect the global food supply by causing armed conflict. In periods of conflict, food production is usually reduced, and in some cases collapses, leading to hunger and starvation and forcing large numbers of people to migrate. Food can be used like a weapon during conflict.
