• Spelling Practice (one word per pyramid):
  Students must write one spelling word inside each pyramid. The top of the pyramid has the first letter only. On each tier the students adds one additional letter from the word. The bottom tier of the pyramid will have the complete word. This activity is more fun way to encourage the learning of spelling words by repetition.
• Vocab Building (multiple words per pyramid):
  The pyramid will begin with a single letter at the top. On each tier the student must add 1 letter, and re-arrange the letters from the previous tier to create a word. Each tier (apart from the top) must be a real word. This activity is a fun way for students to increase their vocabulary, especially if they use dictionaries or the internet to help them discover new words.
